The Video Editor mixes and masters audio. Edits video footage to desired length and format, creates motion graphics, and completes color corrections. Being a Video Editor archives and stores all files, footage, graphics, and audio. Encodes final videos to desired size and format. In addition, Video Editor proficient using Adobe Creative suite and production software including After Effects and Final Cut and other editing software. Typically requires a bachelor's degree or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Being a Video Editor gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function.     The mission of the United States Air Force (AF) is to fly, fight, and win in air, space, and cyberspace domains. The AF Civil Engineer (AF/A4C) aims to effectively optimize resource allocation and Civil Engineering (CE) programs while modernizing and recapitalizing installation infrastructure, protecting installation from mission degradation, and executing sustainment programs.  The ideal candidate will use his/her video experience and creative skills to produce short-format video content for the Air Force Civil Engineer portfolio.  He/she will be responsible for the assembly and delivery of videos that maximize messaging impact. 

     

    Compensation & Benefits:

    Estimated Starting Salary Range for Video Editor: $70,000 - $75,000 

    Pay commensurate with experience.

    Video Editor Responsibilities Include: 

    • Provide a robust, professional quality, video and virtual engagement/event production and delivery/broadcast capability, including: program development, filming (multi camera, multi-angle), coordination of all aspects associated with filming and production, story board development, professional production of deliverables, and other actions required to produce and display virtual engagements/events worldwide using both Contractor supplied and Government production studios. 
    • Virtual engagements/events typically range in length from 3-minute vignettes to 1-day seminars. Additionally, responsible for communicating with stakeholders on design decisions and production timelines and maintain a robust Strategic Communications capability that supports A4C leadership in seminars, speeches, briefings etc. 
    • Specific duties include the following:
    • Organize and interpret raw footage based on team workflow 
    • Assemble full length story cuts leveraging creative vision
    • Leverage recorded and engineered audio to enhance production value
    • Create motion graphics i.e. lower thirds, titles, call-outs
    • Output files to specification (codec, bit rate, and resolution)
    • Collaborate with team and stakeholders on design decisions and production timelines
    • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

     

    Video Editor Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested: 

    • Expert level skill in video editing/graphics software (i.e. Adobe Premiere, Adobe After Effects, Adobe Audition)
    • Ability to operate in a demanding & fast-paced environment, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and prioritize effectively to ensure on-time delivery of products
    • A desire to take on leadership responsibility and operate with little oversight
    • Excellent collaboration skills, a solution-based attitude, and the ability to work with people with diverse skills and backgrounds
    • Ability to build and manage strong relationships with a diverse array of clients
    • Ability to comfortably interact with senior level government and contractor personnel on an as needed basis
    • Outstanding interaction skills, tact, and team building skills
    • Ability to successfully pass drug screening and a federal background check is required
    • SECRET clearance is required
    • Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in film, film editing, motion graphics, or related field
    • 3 years experience leading a team 
    • DOD or AF knowledge (3 years) 
    • Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal
