Volunteer Coordinator supervises and leads the daily undertakings of a volunteer program to attract, inspire, train, and deploy volunteers. Leads the recruiting, interviewing, and hiring of volunteer workers. Being a Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for training and educating volunteers. Motivates and inspires volunteers to encourage teamwork. Additionally, Volunteer Coordinator evaluates and reviews volunteer schedules and makes adjustments as necessary. Ensures that the activities of the volunteer workers meet the needs of the organization. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Volunteer Coordinator supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. Special Program Assistant
JOB SUMMARY: This full-time, in-person position is responsible for providing administrative support to all aspects of Volunteer NH program operations.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED: This position works under the direct supervision of the Executive Director.

TIMELINE: This full-time position is temporary, contingent upon funding, with a start date as soon as possible and expected to be funded through December 2026.

Supporting Volunteer NH program staff with AmeriCorps Subgrant management including, including:
Assisting with new program outreach by researching potential NH organizations to host AmeriCorps programs;
Assisting with AmeriCorps member recruitment outreach by researching and scheduling outreach meetings and events.

HOURS & LOCATION:
This position generally works Monday–Friday, 40 hours per week requiring prompt, regular attendance with occasional participation in evening, early morning, and weekend engagements. The Volunteer NH office space is located in Concord, NH (117 Pleasant St; Dolloff Bldg. 4th Fl).
PRINCIPAL WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:
Relationships include Volunteer NH staff and Board of Directors, AmeriCorps program staff and members, New Hampshire nonprofits and agencies, and the general public.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work is typically performed in an office setting on a computer. It is of moderate physical demand, including standing, sitting, and walking. Filing records may be required, which would include some stooping, bending, and reaching. This position may include significant deadline pressures; frequent interruptions; and daily telephone, video, and email work.
The position requires occasional travel locally, statewide, or further for required meetings and conferences. It may also include occasional assignments that require one to be out of doors in a range of temperatures.
