The Volunteer Services Program Director will assist the Executive Director with the administration and coordination of volunteer services, as directed by the Executive Director. The position is under the direct supervision of the Executive Director. This is currently a “Full-time” position, as defined in the Friends in Action Employee Handbook. Schedule of hours worked will be mutually agreed upon between the Director and the Volunteer Services Program Director.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Qualifications: It is important that the Volunteer Services Program Director have at least 3 years of experience as a community volunteer in a variety of settings. The Volunteer Services Program Director should also have 3 to 5 years of experience working with volunteers and older adults and people with disabilities. The Volunteer Services Program Director must have good communication skills (especially on the telephone), compassion and empathy for others, and strong computer skills to maintain volunteer and client records. Knowledge of the Hancock County area is required. A strong familiarity with transportation and other social services resources is helpful. An ability to speak to small groups and lead group training sessions will be required.
