Web Administrator administers and maintains the organization's websites. Monitors site traffic and performance and recommends changes in the site's technical architecture to ensure that the website remains responsive, stable, and secure. Being a Web Administrator maintains and administers websites by screening content for consistency and accuracy. Maintains related hardware and software, installs upgrades, and resolves system errors as they arise. Additionally, Web Administrator ensures the website is properly integrated with related computer systems and back-end processes. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Web Administrator work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project. Position Summary:
The web technician is responsible for building and maintaining web properties in support of university marketing and communications efforts.
Duties may include:
- Review and approve web content changes and calendar events submissions
- Design, create and maintain websites, bulk email, forms and calendars
- Collaborate with peers and stakeholders to complete assignments
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Creating and maintaining websites using a Content Management System (CMS)
- Applying web design and web marketing principles
- Using web analytics tools
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong communication skills
- Experience working in team environment towards shared goals
- Experience in marketing or communications, preferably in higher education
- Experience writing basic HTML
- Experience sending bulk email campaigns
