Rock Paper Scissors (RPS) is a woman-owned stationery and gift store located in Ann Arbor, Michigan. We aim to help our customers “win gifting” by being the go-to spot for luxury gifts, pop culture merch, seasonal favorites and the best selection of greeting cards. We also specialize in personalized stationery, branded corporate gifting, and bespoke wedding invitations.

The Role

We’re searching for a Design Coordinator to join our RPS Weddings team! Collaborating closely with the Client Coordinator, you’ll be the creative force behind our wedding paper projects. This individual will guide clients through the design process for invitations and day-of detail pieces, from initial concept to production, ensuring a seamless and delightful experience. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in graphic design, excellent communication skills, and a passion for creating memorable designs.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with clients to understand their wedding theme, style preferences, and overall vision.
• Develop and present elevated design concepts for invitation suites and day-of details.
• Confidently communicate design options and influence client decisions to achieve a cohesive design plan.
• Manage project timelines and budgets, ensuring all deliverables are completed within agreed-upon timeframes.
• Craft suggesting wording for invitation suites, adhering to proper wedding stationery etiquette.
• Oversee the design team in creating proofs for client review and manage revisions.
• Execute high-quality invitation suite assembly.

Requirements

• Holds a degree in Graphic Design or a related field.
• Possesses a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in graphic design, with a strong portfolio showcasing layout skills and multiple design styles.
• Has a keen eye for design and willingness to embrace clients’ aesthetics.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to present creative ideas and collaborate effectively with clients and internal/external partners.
• A creative problem solver with exceptional time management and multitasking skills.
• Thrives in a fast-paced environment and possesses a genuine passion for helping clients achieve their wedding paper dreams.
• Bonus Points! Understanding of invitation etiquette and current wedding stationery trends.
• Experience with project management software and design programs (e.g. Adobe Creative Suite).
• Hand-lettering and illustration abilities are a big plus!
