Women's Athletics Director directs all facets of a university/college's women's athletic program, including intramural and intercollegiate sports. Manages the entire women's coaching staff. Being a Women's Athletics Director schedules use of facilities, transportation, and sporting events. Also responsible for fundraising, publicity, ticket pricing and distribution, and purchase of new equipment. Additionally, Women's Athletics Director requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Women's Athletics Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.     We are looking for a certified Performance Director with the desire and passion in working to increase Gritworks reach within our community and who understands the importance of a functional, strength and conditioning training approach. There is long term growth potential for a trainer who is consistent, reliable, and versatile.

    Education & Certification Requirements:

    • Minimum of 3 years of Personal Training/Performance Coaching experience
    • BA/BS Kinesiology, Physical Education or Sports Science or related degree
    • Currently hold industry certification, preferably NSCA-CSCS, NASM or ACSM or in pursuit of these certifications.

    Primary Duties & Responsibilities

    • Leading a team of performance coaches, schedules, leadership development
    • Instructing, motivating, and assisting athletes in a safe, legal, moral, ethical manner to achieve their goals in our semi private class setting.
    • Conducting on-site assessments of athletes’ utilizing Gritworks comprehensive assessment and evaluation protocols.
    • Updating training plans and/or re-evaluating athletes as needed to ensure optimal outcomes.
    • Create programming for all classes, privates, semi privates
    • Maintaining constant communication with athletes to ensure goals are being met.
    • Presenting Gritworks methodology to schools in the community

    Qualifications/Experience for Success:

    • Minimum of 3 year of Performance Coaching experience
    • Excellent presentation skills in both small and large group settings
    • Strong customer service skills where servicing the “athlete” is top priority
    • Energy and passion for helping student-athletes achieve their personal goals
    • Must be able to work independently with little daily supervision
    • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
    • Experience teaching semi-private/small group classes with emphasis on helping improve technique and ability
    • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office or related product
    • Perform all aspects of the position held in a professional manner.
    • Follow established policies and procedures of the company.
    • Maintain professional credentials as required including attending necessary continuing education courses

    Physical Requirements

    • Candidates applying for this position should be able to lift 50 pounds unassisted repeatedly throughout the workday.
    • The physical requirements of this job require frequent walking around and demonstrating and assisting with exercise movements; bending, stretching, lifting, pushing, pulling, and squatting are movements performed daily.

    Availability Requirements:

    • Must be available to work Monday – Saturday for training sessions.
    • Must be flexible and available for athletes who may want a session as early as 6 am to as late as 8:30 pm.
    • Must include availability and schedule in the submitted cover letter.
