Workers' Compensation Manager is responsible for developing, maintaining, and managing a company's workers' compensation program. Implements all matters of the program, including claim investigations, settlements, and litigation. Being a Workers' Compensation Manager establishes standards and procedures for all matters relating to workers' compensation. Responsible for finding an insurance provider that meets organizational goals of employee coverage and cost effectiveness. Additionally, Workers' Compensation Manager requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a head of unit/department. The Workers' Compensation Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Extensive knowledge of department processes. To be a Workers' Compensation Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 to 3 years supervisory experience may be required.   • Large RI Workers’ Compensation practice seeking associate to handle litigation-intensive case load. Position would involve regular attendance at Rhode Island Workers’ Compensation Court and conducting depositions, as necessary, under the supervision of current partners and associates.

    Requirements / Qualifications:

    • Admission to the Rhode Island State Bar, or sufficient UBE score to be admitted to the jurisdictions.
    • 0 to 2 years of experience.
    • Moot Court experience preferred, but not required.
    • Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
    • Strong academic record.
    • The ideal candidate would enjoy regular court appearances/argument at RI WCC.

This position will provide excellent exposure to a recently barred attorney interested in civil litigation and deposition practice. The new associate can expect to practice exclusively at the Rhode Island Workers’ Compensation Court.

    Salary: $100K - $110K (Candidates possessing more than 2 years of Workers’ Compensation experience will also be considered; salary commensurate with experience).
